Until 1309 Popes moved around quite a lot, probably in a more grand style than us. They built a magnificent Palace in Avignon and lived there until 1377. It is known as The Popes Palace strangely enough. We spent a couple of hours walking around it, Dad said he could have spent a couple of days.
